Angus MacRae is a composer, producer, and musician whose extensive body of work spans solo albums, concert performances, and award-winning scores for theatre, film, ballet, television, and contemporary dance.
His music transcends its classical roots, pairing panoramic electronic backdrops with intimate instrumental recordings to create transportive, elegiac compositions of unflinching emotional honesty.
His solo work, comprising three full-length albums and several EPs, has reached a global audience and been released on labels including Deutsche Grammophon, !K7, and 1631 Recordings, as well as his own label, Nation of the Sea.
MacRae’s scores have accompanied Olivier Award-winning productions in London’s West End and on Broadway, as well as internationally touring ballets and contemporary dance performances by world-renowned choreographers.
He has scored numerous acclaimed film, theatre, and commercial projects, screened at film festivals worldwide and performed at iconic venues including the Almeida Theatre, National Theatre, The Barbican, Shakespeare’s Globe and Sadler’s Wells.
